Ecology as an Integral Part of CPI Hotels Operations
CPI Hotels has long placed a strong emphasis on ecology and sustainable development. The goal is to minimize the environmental impact of hotel operations while also promoting awareness of responsible climate behavior. Key focus areas include energy and water conservation, emission reduction, effective waste management, and the implementation of ecological innovations across the hotel network.
In our daily operations, we systematically focus on waste sorting, reducing the use of single-use plastics, and replacing printed materials with digital formats. We use recycled materials, prefer eco-friendly cleaning products, and in selected hotels, we compost organic waste or keep beehives on rooftops.
A key tool for achieving these goals is our environmental program Join Pure Stay, which connects operational processes with a nature-conscious approach. The program is implemented throughout the entire CPI Hotels network and includes regular ecological audits, employee training, and informing guests about ways they can participate in the initiative.
In 2024, we conducted ecological audits in all our hotels to assess the implementation of the Join Pure Stay program. This also included an internal competition for the most environmentally friendly operation. The result was a range of concrete activities – planting over 700 trees, revitalizing the area around the Tovéř Pond, supporting animal shelters, and creating a children’s environmental trail.
A new initiative introduced last year was the installation of Chargee electric vehicle charging stations, supporting the development of sustainable mobility.
Our environmental goals for 2030 include:
- Reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 32.4% compared to 2019
- Sourcing 100% of electricity from renewable sources
- Reducing water and energy consumption by 10%
- Increasing the recycling rate to 60% and minimizing landfill waste
Special recognition was awarded to CPI Hotels Slovakia, whose responsible approach to sorting electronic waste and batteries earned them the Green Certificate from SEWA once again. This certificate confirms that CPI hotels in Slovakia actively support environmentally responsible recycling and contribute to improving the take-back system.
