Hloubětín Lodging House operated by CPI Hotels experienced a fire drill connected with deployment of the Fire and Rescue Service yesterday morning. Four fire units were deployed to the lodging house, which is currently undertaking insulation of its facades and roof and balcony reconstruction; the police also shut down the driveway to the location.

"Security of our regular guests is of primary importance to us, the drill was meant to ensure trouble-free access of the fire unit in case of a fire event even during worsened conditions by having the building covered by scaffolding," stated Kateřina Kronovetrová, director at Hloubětín Lodging House. During the simulated intervention the firefighters even used the longest ladder in Prague at 52 metres long and a crane in order to test the accessibility of the top floors of the building. Work with fire rescue technology inside the building followed by a guided tour of the premises took almost three hours.
