The Clarion Congress Hotel Prague supported the 24-hour marathon to help people suffering from multiple sclerosis

Prague / Czech Republic / March 6, 2017

The Vysočany Clarion Congress Hotel Prague has for the second time supported the MARS – 24-hour MAraton s Roztroušenou Sklerózou (Marathon with Multiple Sclerosis). The sixth year of the non-stop physical training event to help people afflicted by multiple sclerosis took place from 3 – 4 March 2017 in Prague and another almost 30 Bohemian and Moravian towns. The objective of the marathon’s information campaigns is to draw attention to the issue of the disease itself as well as highlight the importance of physical exercise and a healthy lifestyle for patients suffering from multiple sclerosis.

In the Czech Republic, the organisation of the event was handled by the Impuls Endowment Fund (Nadační fond Impuls). Apart from the physical exercise itself, visitors could also make voluntary contributions; the proceeds are used to purchase rehabilitation aids which are not covered by health insurance companies. Last year, the amount of CZK 180 thousand was collected in the event. The Clarion Congress Hotel Prague helped organise the Prague part of the Marathon by lending items such as tables, chairs and utensils necessary to organise the event, which was held at FitnessAction in Prague 4. The event was held under the patronage of the Mayor of Prague 4, Petr Štěpánek, and Deputy Mayor Iva Kotová. The Vysočany Clarion regularly participates in the CSR and charity projects, and apart from Nadační fond Impuls, it also co-operates long-term with, for example, the Srdcerváči project and the Chance 4 Children Foundation, and also participates in the Přátelská místa (Friendly Places) initiative as well as various projects on the Byznys pro společnost (Business for Society) platform.
