České Budějovice / Czech Republic / April 11, 2016

On Friday, the Clarion Congress Hotel of České Budějovice hosted a unique charity event called Extraordinary evening for extraordinary children. The main star of the beneficial concert to support the Nursery and Primary School in Reiger Street in České Budějovice was the violinist Pavel Šporcl. Total proceeds from ticket sales, accompanying sales of snacks, paintings by the illustrator Jan Farkas from Budějovice and others amounted to CZK 44,446. The money will go to organising the 52nd year of national sports games for the hearing impaired, which will be held on June 22 – 25, 2016, in České Budějovice.

There was a wonderful atmosphere during the concert, and we would like to thank not only to the guests who contributed, but also to the partners, thanks to whom we were able to realize this event. Preparation for the 52nd year of the sports games is in full swing, and the collected amount will help cover the costs of renting sports facilities and organization of the event for participants from all over the Czech Republic.”, said Ivana Macíková, headmistress of the Nursery and Primary School for the Hearing Impaired in České Budějovice. “The beneficial music event was another successful publicly beneficial event which we helped organize, and the proceeds will support the development of necessary initiatives in the region. Pavel Šporcl brought to Clarion not only his legendary blue violin, but also a musically attractive show, which was worth it.”, said Martin Štolka, Director of the Clarion Congress Hotel of České Budějovice. In addition to a solo performance from the works of Nicollo Paganini and an excerpt from the album Gipsy Fire, Pavel Šporcl played together with the children’s choir Canzonetty of Budějovice. The highlight of the evening was a common version of the song You raise me up by Pavel Šporcl, musical singer Lukáš Randák and the choir Canzonetty. The world-renowned violinist finished his visit to České Budějovice at the Clarion a day after hosting the ballet production Pas de trois at DK Metropol. The Clarion Congress Hotel in České Budějovice regularly participates in socially responsible activities; in the past, for example, it participated and financially contributed within the “Bucket challenge” campaign ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, it supported the carnival Spring festivities for visually impaired children, organized baking for children from orphanages in cooperation with the Foundation Chance 4 Children, and organized Running on the roof of the Hotel Clarion, the proceeds of which were donated for aids for children with visual impairment in Zechariah Street.
