French hockey players come to Ostrava for training camp

Ostrava / Czech Republic / August 13, 2015

For the ninth time in a row, the junior representative team of France arrived in Ostrava, where from the end of July until almost the first half of August they completed a series of training practice and preparatory matches as part of their summer preparation for the main hockey season. The French representation, including its biggest stars Florian Chakiachvili and Rolland Phillip, again stayed at the Clarion Congress Hotel in Ostrava, which has already become a tradition for them.

The team, headed by coach David Henderson, had 6 matches with the men's teams from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland in their programme during their two-week stay in the Czech Republic. "The north of Moravia as well as our hotel have become popular among the French players, and they have the opportunity here to play matches with teams from three countries, a training hall just opposite the hotel and reliable amenities along with attentive personnel. They did not have any above-standard requirements, they enjoyed a regular buffet, and they had full room and board. Their favourite foods included pork cutlet in ginger, fish fillets with Mediterranean vegetables and traditional Czech potato soup. French defence player Crinon Pierre, who celebrated his birthday during his stay, received Belgian chocolates as a present," revealed Václav Střílka from the Clarion Congress Hotel. The matches with the team from the land of the Gallic Rooster (France) were thoroughly prepared for by their rivals, and the French team left Ostrava with 4 losses and 2 wins. Only the teams from Havířov, Czech Republic, and Jastrzebie, Poland, managed to defeat them.
