A festively set table and a hall decorated with white flowers and pink valerians awaited more than 500 wedding guests at the Clarion hotel in the town of Ostrava on Sunday, 11 January 2015. The wedding date according to Vietnamese tradition was determined according to the lunar calendar and the age of the bride. The arrival of the newlyweds was announced around 6 p.m. by extravagant fireworks in front of the Clarion hotel. The bride and groom on stage first greeted the guests and then handed the stage over to their parents, who in front of friends and family wished them good luck in their life together.
“We have had several weddings in our hotel in the past, but this was undoubtedly the biggest. It was interesting to see that even during this event the family is the focal point of everything, it is a gathering of several generations from the very young to the very old. And even more so than in the Czech Republic, it is also a celebration of the parents of the newlyweds,” said Radim Beneš, Director of Clarion Congress Hotel Ostrava. The wedding menu was influenced predominantly by international cuisine and included pork tenderloin with a rustic crust, duo of carrots, Romanesco and mashed potatoes. The guests toasted festive moments with Chivas Regal Scotch whisky. Dessert was a traditional Vietnamese rice cake.
“An elegantly decorated bridal suite was prepared for the newlyweds. I am glad we were able to provide them with all the services and facilities and thus contribute at least a little to the uniqueness of this festive day,” added Radim Beneš.
